“Residence Time” is a performance study built in conversation with Christina Sharpe’s In the Wake: On Blackness and Being and in response to Nina Cooke John’s Two Boxes of Oranges and Admonia Jackson. The work traverses the future, past and present, folding in ancestral knowledge and incomplete histories of the peoples of the African Diaspora. The work is supported by the National Endowment of the Arts See Site Performance Residency through the City of Alexandria Office of the Arts.
